My Goal

I grew up in a small town in Ontario, Canada, surrounded by the arts from birth. With a mother who had a passion for education and music and a father in love with painting and sculpture, art quickly became my foundation in life. My passion continued to grow throughout my early years, constantly doodling on my math homework and daydreaming of magnificent worlds instead of focussing on the "important" things. I was a social butterfly, always looking for a new adventure to go on, playing imagination games or performing crazy stunts with my sister. As I grew older I soon started to see ways I could use my passions to improve systems I had come to know, through design. I quickly began learning everything I could about design, eventually leading me to move to the big City of Toronto, Ontario to attend Ontario College of Art and Design and earn a Bachelor's Degree in Illustrative Design. During this time, I learned design is not always easy and that there will be days when my creativity is not going to be at its full potential. I learned how I could turn my ideas into actions, why design is such an important part of everyday life and how to use design effectively. Hearing stories from my mother over the years and seeing how much work and time she put in for every one of her students, inspired me to want to do the same, but in my own way. So, whether it's in a textbook or simply an ad on a crusty old subway wall, my love to create and design work that invokes emotion, inspiration and ideas is always my goal.
